Everything you need to know before booking your vehicle.
What do I need to rent?+
A valid driver's license and an ID document.
How old do I have to be to rent?+
The driver must be at least 25 years old for cars and 16 for quads.
What is the security deposit?+
Deposit amounts are in US dollars (US$): US$1,000 for the Kia Seltos, US$500 for the other car models and US$300 for quads. For the scooter, the amount is confirmed before booking.
Can I pay by card?+
Card payments are accepted.
Is insurance included?+
Basic insurance is included in the rental. Full insurance is available on request.
Where do I pick up the vehicle?+
The vehicle is handed over at our office: Plaza Italia #22, Avenida Juan Pablo Duarte, Las Terrenas. We do not have a desk at the airport.
How do I confirm my reservation?+
After your request, IVJ will confirm availability, total price, deposit and the steps required to secure the vehicle.
Is there a mileage limit?+
Mileage is unlimited.
What about fuel?+
The vehicle must be returned with a full tank. Otherwise, a US$10 surcharge is charged.
What happens if I return the vehicle late?+
A return more than 2 hours late results in an extra rental day being charged.
What happens if the vehicle is damaged?+
If the vehicle is damaged, part of the security deposit is withheld.
Can I cancel my booking?+
Any cancellation made at least 2 months before the start of the rental entitles you to a refund of the down payment, minus a penalty of 20% of the down payment. Bank fees for the refund are borne by the customer. For a cancellation made less than 2 months before the start, the conditions are provided before the booking is confirmed.
